Leather is a popular medium in millinery but the quality, type and thickness of leather needs to be considered. What is your experience using leather for covering headpiece or for trims?

Is the leather hand sewn to the buckram frame? I love to sew garments with leather and imagine that a very fine pliable skin would be used. Your hat is beautiful

This is something that I want to try. As a tailor, I have sewn leather and replaced many leather coat zippers, so I have the basics.   I would love to use a soft supple leather that I could creat a crown with soft folds and draping in a soft, rich camel brown.

Greer, that pink hat is beautiful!  Where do you find the wadding?  Would quilt batting work?
