Profile Information:

I Love Hats Because?
I love wearing hats and now in my retirement I am going to love teaching Millinery to pass on my skills to the next generation.
About Me
I have been happily married for 40+years and have 4 wonderful children. As a Teenager in the 1960s we wore hats everywhere. I made my first hat in 1964 during my training as a Home Economics Teacher. We were trained over 2 years in all fields of millinery so we could teach millinery in Adult Education with the Queensland Govt. I love spending time
caring for my Granddaughters,Scarlett & Lillian and going fishing.

    Thank you so much Elaine,

I am a really beginner in Millinery - but I always loved hats - and I am looking for materials: they are very difficult to find in Italy but I am searching on line for English and French sites in order to keep down shipping costs. As soon as I have basic materials, I'll surely follow your classes.

Thanks again, I'll keep in touch!

Hello Elaine, I am a bit slow on the computer but I just read you lovely welcome...thankyou. I have purchased lessons 15 and 16 (silk Abaca). I was about to purchase lesson 17 and I stopped and actually read the page !!! I probably should have purchased the master class, is there a great deal of difference between the individual class content and the master class content?

Thank you for your time and your wonderful website

    Annette

Although I have a little bit of millinery training, having the opportunity to learn these skills systematically and on a schedule that works for me is wonderful. Thank you for making this opportunity possible.

    Elaine,

Thank you for your warm welcoming. I am so looking forward to more hat making classes on your site.

  • helene kusnitz

Oh it was on the front page? I didn't see that. Thank you for your compliment. Looking forward to more creating.

  • helene kusnitz

    Please tell Wendy for me:T

Thank you for your compliments. I feel I've found my new medium in wool. I've made many vessels and a beret over the last few years but not a hat like this one. I haven't been this excited about creating since I started quilting over 27 years ago. Your video was clear and easy to follow and I look forward to making more and trying the cloche hat. I'd love to know where I can find other template ideas to make other types of hats. And will you have any other workshops available in the future?
