I Love Hats Because?
I love wearing hats and now in my retirement I am going to love teaching Millinery to pass on my skills to the next generation.
About Me
I have been happily married for 40+years and have 4 wonderful children. As a Teenager in the 1960s we wore hats everywhere. I made my first hat in 1964 during my training as a Home Economics Teacher. We were trained over 2 years in all fields of millinery so we could teach millinery in Adult Education with the Queensland Govt. I love spending time
caring for my Granddaughters,Scarlett & Lillian and going fishing.

    Hi Elaine,
I am kicking myself for not getting organised enough to have been able to meet you whilst you were here in Cairns recently. Next time definitely. I am excited to be finally making a real hat. My last one was plaited raffia in the 80's!
Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity!

Thanks Elaine for your lovely welcome.  I am looking forward to starting some lessons and would be interested to hear where I can get the hat blocks or other resources in Adelaide.  I am currently doing a 6 month stint managing a resort in Western Australia, which is why i want to do lessons as i have time on my hands.  I am returning to adelaide in two weeks so if I can purchase anything you recommend while I'm there it would be much appreciated any advice your an give me.

    Warm regards

    Hi Elaine
I started making hats a few years back, but I would like to get better using the proper techniques. I have a number of hats and they have improved with each one but I do want to get better so that I can start a business in millenary. I tried to sign up for some of your courses but I was having a bit of trouble with the site. I will try again.
Thanks so much for sharing your skills with us.
