Applications are invited from fashion students from approved
colleges and employees of a trainee or apprentice status working in the headwear industry. Applicants are also welcome to enter the competition within 2 years of completing their millinery studies or starting their own millinery business. Entries may be submitted from any country within the European Community.
There are no age restrictions.
Whilst the award will be for design, that design should be capable of being manufactured in a factory or workroom, and be suitable for commercial sale.
Fur felt or Wool felt has to be used, although it need not be the major content of the hat.

The First Prize winner will receive £1200 plus a total of two weeks work experience
(Rachel Trevor Morgan’s workroom and Walter Wright’s factory)
The Second Prize winner will receive £600
The Third Prize winner will receive £450
Minor Prizes of £200 will be awarded for Artwork &
Presentation, Commerciality, Craftsmanship and Innovative
Use of Felt.
Entries must not be sent before February 1st; the closing
date is March 1st 2018.
Judging will take place during April 2018.
