I am Monika Stebbins.
I've been a milliner for over 20 years now.
I make hats, I consult and I teach millinery.
I studied millinery in Germany with millinery masters Christel Glock and Richard Lang and later took a master class in England, with Stephen Jones and Shirley Hex.
In my studio in Madison, NJ, USA, I design and create my hats. All my hats are handmade, from fine materials, with traditional and modern millinery techniques.
My hats are available directly from my studio; in select stores, at trunkshows (the "travelling hatshop") and at select shows.
Each season, I create new designs, mostly limited editions, a few pret-a-porter-level small series with a theme, and select couture-level pieces (my follies).
Much of what I make is custom work, created for a certain client, to match an outfit or to be the perfect accessory for an event.
Your creativity is boundless Monika. Many of us would love to create in this way but are bound by commercial expectations I hope you pick up tips and techniques through this site. We are forever learning as we stretch our imagination!!
Enjoy, Elaine
