- About Me
- Although I had an event business for many years, all my life I wanted to make hats. I have started to learn the millinery art from famous designers from UK and Romania. After graduating London Fashion School, I decided to invest in professional equipment, fabrics and materials for manufacturing hats.
I have founded DeCorina Hats in 2018 in Bucharest, Romania, trying to blend slow fashion and design, millinery craftsmanship from Luton England with an equestrian and events heritage. Each hat I make carries forward the energy of its creator and offers the wearer a way to express one’s personality.
In the last three years I have launched several major collections in New York and Bucharest (Warriors 2018, Bucket List 2020, Infinite Solution 2019, Martisor 2020, Plie 2019, Wedding 2020, Terra Celestial 22020 and many series outside collections).
My creations were featured on the covers of international fashion magazines (Harpers Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Vogue, etc.) in various countries (USA, South Korea, Serbia, Vietnam, Romania, etc.) and worn by celebrities.
I employ modern as well as traditional techniques; hot and cold blocking, hand forming, hand and machine stitching, hand and machine embroidery.
