Reproduction 1800s Victorian Bonnet Hat

This Beautiful reproduction of an 1800s bonnet is all hand formed and hand sewn. The colors are black, green, pale peach, and darker peach.

The bonnet is made from hand sewn vintage straw braid and the brim has been wired and is covered in a striped silk of eye catching colors.

The bonnet is trimmed with the same striped silk formed into a bow at the one side. There is a double curled ostrich feather that curls up and over the top of the brim. The ostrich feather is highlighted with a fluff of coque feathers. The back of the brim is tipped up slightly to avoid the neck.

The bonnet is held onto the head with wide vintage black taffeta ribbons on either side and a comb inside the front of the bonnet.

There are vintage velvet berries trimming the silk and taffeta bows at the right side of the bonnet. There is also a small black crin lace ruffle edging the entire brim

This is my tribute to Toulouse.

The hat is unlined but has a grosgrain band.

The headsize opening is 21 1/2" however THIS IS NOT MEANT TO FIT THE HEAD BUT SIT ON THE BACK OF THE HEAD and held on with the ribbon ties. It would comfortably fit a headsize of 21" to 22 1/2" ***NOTE: If used for a child it should sit onto the head so use head size opening as a guide.
