CAN YOU USE FELT STIFFENER TO STIFFEN SINAMAY?

Urgent question...! Does anyone know if you can use Crodalac felt stiffener to stiffen sinamay?

I've made a free-form sinamay wire brimmed hat (pic below), but I need to stiffen the brim. I dont want to use water-based straw stiffener as I think the moisture will cause the brim to lose its shape.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I use a standard chemical-based stiffener for felt, straw and sinamay - but it needs to be thinned, depending on the material.   I know there are other options for sinamay/straw though - such as 1 part aquadhere liquid adhesive to 3 parts water - which I haven't used on felt.

Beautiful Vivienne. I usually use water based on sinamay. Have you tried the chemical staw stiffener? I get it from Parkin.

Great- thanks Aoife. I'll call Parkins and see if they can ship the chemical stiffener out here.
