Hello milliners,

I am a student milliner (very new to millinery and even newer to hat academy)

I am wanting to create a hat for my friend to match a dress with a slightly shiny/satiny finish,

She loves the look of silk abaca but has a modest budget so any suggestions regarding fabric alternatives would be fantastic,

My milinery teacher has recommended Jinsin, but wouldn't elaborate on its cost or The processes needed to work the jinsin?
Are the covering / draping / trimming techniques similar to abaca in any way?

I already have two hats academy courses on abaca

any tips/techniques that can save time & get more bang for my buck would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance
Ella.
